Shane Sieg was an American racing driver who was born on July 18, 1976, in Tucker, Georgia, United States. He was part of a racing family, with his father being a successful driver and his brothers also competing in motorsports. Sieg started his career in local races in Georgia before moving up to the NASCAR circuit. He competed in various series, including the NASCAR Busch Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and ARCA Racing Series.
Sieg achieved his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win at the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 in 2005, driving the No. 07 Chevrolet truck owned by Sieg Racing. He also had eight top-10 finishes in that season and finished 12th in the final points standings. Sieg continued to race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series until his death in 2017.
Unfortunately, Sieg's racing career came to a tragic end on September 23, 2017, when he passed away at the age of 41 due to an apparent overdose. He is survived by his wife and three children. Despite his untimely death, Sieg is still remembered as a talented and dedicated driver who was passionate about motorsports.
